Mario Ramadori (1935-1998) was born in Rome and spent the first part of life in the area of Pigneto. In the first place, he studied commercial art. Just later, he adhered to Metaphysical Art and he did easel paintings.
In the mid-1960s he moved to the area of Tuscolano-Cinecittà. Around the year 1970 his visual description was mimetic with expressive component. Just later there was also a symbolic component. The artist lived with his times: his paintings was related to ecological and social issues, about modern man who lives in consumerist society.
His pictorial language is simple and immediate. His paintings have a great emotional impact. His artworks are characterized by a message of universal value.
The subject of industrial center has inspired by Sardinian industrial districts located in Buggerru and Portoscuso (Portovesme), at least at first. The Abruzzo village is the archetype of the place where there are the values mankind is losing.
The artist took places inside the debate of the period about the function of the art and the relationship between art and suburbs. During the same period, he participated in significant exhibitions and competitions that have taken place mainly in Rome and in Abruzzo.
Around the year 1978, Mario Ramadori reached a turning point in his artistic production. His painting was characterized by slimmer brushstrokes and cold tone. His artworks have represented industrial scraps. In parallel with the stylistic turning point, since 1978 Mario Ramadori has been experimenting a series of associative experiences, such as the U.L.A. – Unione Liberi Artisti (Free Union Artists), the L.A.R. – Liberi Artisti Riuniti (Free Gathered Artists), Acropoli – Associazione Culturale Romana Polivalente (Acropolis - Roman Polyvalent Cultural Association). Mario Ramadori was particularly active in the promotion of art and artists.
Mario Ramadori also painted under the pseudonyms of IRODAMAR, IRO DAMAR, RAMA, LORI and Brjcocôličh, based on style and specific topics discussed.
